The Meritxell Sanctuary is an emblematic place of worship in Andorra, located in the parish of Canillo. Dedicated to the Virgin of Meritxell, the country's patron saint, the current sanctuary was inaugurated in 1976, designed by the modernist architect Ricard Bofill. Its architecture stands out for the combination of traditional and contemporary elements, with an impressive stone façade and large windows that allow in natural light. In addition to being an important pilgrimage destination, the sanctuary is surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings, making it an ideal place for reflection and spirituality.
